Peace, a word!
In Arabic, "salam" when it requires humiliating terms becomes "istislam", surrender.
In Hebrew, "Shalom" seems to be a dream, or a necessity but with special terms and conditions imposed by the israeli governments and the hebrew nationalistic movements.
'Peace now" seems to be just and fair, asking for two States for two peoples.
"Shalom" as a motto appears to reflect something which is missing, like (somehow) the "ordem e progresso" of the Brazilian State!
"Shalom" perhaps for some Jews implies "shlemut", integrity, of a borderless territory...
Peace as a theory:
Jesus said the most beautiful things about peace and non - violence.
Apparently, according to Isaiah 32, 17 :"wehayah ma'aseh hatzedaqah shalom". "No peace for the wicked". (resha'im)
Happy the peace makers... Happy the meek, for they will inherit the land.." (quotation of Psalms, quoted also by the Koran but in a slightly different way, Prophets l05).
Is Christ utopic?
Tranquillitas ordinis... "Equality for peace" ... - peace for equality...
