Promised Land, Palestine and the Bible

We consider ourselves no longer a nation, but a religious community, and therefore expect neither a return to Palestine, nor a sacrificial worship under the sons of Aaron, nor the restoration of any of the laws concerning the Jewish state. The people of God as described in the New Testament are not to be identified with any existing or future political state. The New Testament recognizes the importance of ordered societies and hence of political states, but never does it confuse the kingdom of God or the church with a nation or race of people.
