A- AMERICA MUST LISTEN TO ITS CONSCIENCE AND SUPPORT COMREHENSIVE JUSTICE AND FAIRNESS FOR ALL PEOPLE IN THE MIDDLE EAST

B- WE DO NEED TO HELP OUR GOVERNMNENT, AS A DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY TO LOOK TO JUSTICE

C- THE WHOLE WORLD, THROUGH MANY NATIONAL, INTERNATIONAL, NATIONAL RELIGIOUS AND NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, HAS CLEARLY SAID THAT THE US, IS NOT ACTING AS AN HONEST BROKER IN THE MIDDLE EAST PEACE PROCESS

D- WE AMERICANS, FEEL ASHAMED TO SEE THAT OUR GOVERNEMENT IS NOT ACTING AS AN HONEST BROKER. PLEASE THEN JOIN OUR NATION WIDE CAMPAIGN DURING THE VISIT OF PRIME MINISTER OF ISRAEL TO THE US ON APRIL 7TH

Local campaigns can be held at every college, university, church, mosque, or synagogue. They should also be held in front of federal buildings and the consulates of Israel, Russia, France and Great Britain.

A- We need to emphasize THOSE ISSUES:

1- As a signatory to the agreements between the Israelis and Palestinians, and as a self-declared HONEST BROKER in the negotiations, the Clinton administration has an obligation to make it clear to Israel that its actions detrimental to peace will no longer be tolerated. WE, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, must insist that our government honor that obligation.

2- The US administration is backing away from the long-term policy that states that East Jerusalem is subject to U.N. Security Council Resolution 242 regarding territories OCCUPIED by Israel in 1967. This policy also declares that all Israeli settlement activity in the West Bank and Gaza, including Jerusalem, is unlawful. We must make it clear that it is NOT DISPUTED TERRITORY - it is OCCUPIED TERRITORY, BY THE WILL OF THE INERNATIONAL COMMUNITY AND THE LONG-TERM US POLICY

3- The Clinton administration is failing to recognize and support Palestinian basic rights and freedoms in the occupied territories, especially Jerusalem, while it continues toUNCONDITIONALLY support Israel. This bias contradicts the United States' claim that it is an HONEST BROKER.

4-The Clinton administration is not using its considerable influence to halt Israeli construction in East Jerusalem or the continued expansion of Israeli settlements in on occupied territories. Land is still being taken from its Palestinian owners and placed under Israeli control through annexation, often of coercive or of questionable legality. Settlements in the occupied territories contravene international law and are a major obstacle to peace. Furthermore, confiscation of lands from their proper owners is a flagrant violation AND VIOLENCE against fundamental human right.

5. We call upon our government to start acting like a true HONEST BROKER. Only COMPREHENSIVE JUSTICE can stop the violence. We call upon our government to look at the SOURCES and CAUSES of violence before examining the violence itself. " THE CONFICATION OF ANY LAND, IN THE PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES, CAN ONLY PROVOKE OPPOSITION to endanger the peace process, said Roman Catholic Patriarch Sabbah of Jerusalem, We cannot understand such contradictory measures; from one side Palestinians are requested to make peace, on the other side, their lands are confiscated... Again, all, people and authorities, want violence to disappear once for all ( 0 tolerance for violence), but at the same time, MEASURES are taken by responsible authorities to give more fuel to extremists and violence"

B- How to organize a local campaign

1. Contact all of your friends, your local church, mosque, or synagogue, or your college and write to all of your elected officials (senators, representatives, and the Clinton administration) and explain to them it is up to the US government to end the violence and bloodshed by insisting that Israel stop the illegal building in Jerusalem and confiscation of land from its legal owners. 2. Make banners that point out the important issues and display them in public areas.

3. Organize peaceful marches and sit-ins in front of Federal buildings and consulates as mentioned above.

4. Print and distribute informational materials to as many people as you can. You can find these at: http://www.al-bushra.org. There you will also find links to other websites that can be of assistance.

5. Give your priest, pastor, imam, or other local leaders and your professors and reachers these materials and ask them to take a stand in front of their congregations or organizations. Urge them to write and to share in the other activities.

6- Call the White House comments line (202) 456-1111 between 9-5 EST Monday - Friday. Press 0 (zero) to reach a person and then give your message. The operator will ask your state. An operator told CMEP they are getting lots of calls on this issue and are keeping tabs on "for or against support for Israel and Netanyahu" and "for or against the settlements." Tell your friends to call, call yourself in different critical times again and again.

We do beleive in the HONESTY OF OUR NATION, THE USA, WE SHOULD WORK TO KEEP IT IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE WORLD.
