This year will they know its Christmas in Palestine?
Christmas is a time when all people think of the best that humanity can achieve:
peace, good will towards men, sharing and warmth – all those things in life
that we all strive for and hope and pray for others also to share.
For us at Caritas Jerusalem, Christmas is a time when we work harder to help
the needy remember they are not forgotten and that they are loved. Whether
it is through distributing food baskets to needy families, to giving gifts
to children whose families have been negatively affected by the ongoing crisis
in the Holy Land, to visiting the sick who are in hospital or in need of
urgent medical treatment or the elderly who are facing another Christmas
alone, we are working to help those in need at this time.
This year, like every year in our 39 year history, we will be there with
our hands outstretched with love, hope, assistance, and companionship. It
is thanks to all of you that we can respond to all those who feel forsaken
during this blessed season.
You are no strangers to the difficult conditions the people of the Holy Land
have to endure. Will they feel the warmth of Christmas or will they
Through our Christmas outreach program, we will be there working to ensure
that many who are in need will feel God's Love. We are asking you to join
us in this endeavor. Individuals and organizations are welcomed to share
with us in our effort to spread the message of hope. Many giving opportunities
exist and if you would like more details on specific programs we will be
undertaking, please contact us.
Remember Caritas Jerusalem in your church newsletters or in your charitable
activities this holiday season that are in search of a worthy beneficiary.
For your convenience, we have included a donation designation slip along
with this letter.
"Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did
for me." (Matthew 25:40) We hope that you will join with us in expressing
the true spirit of Christmas.
We hope and pray for a better tomorrow in the Holy Land,
