- Pope criticizes Israel
October 3,1996 Vol. 26: No.16
On Aug. 25-29 Christian,
Muslim and Jewish representatives met in Salonika, Greece to discuss the
situation in the Holy Land and espcially about Jerusalem. The meeting was
co-sponsored by the Pontifical Council for Inter religious Dialogue and the
Vatican's Commission mission for Religious Relations With the Jews, the World
Council of Churches and the Lutheran World Federation.
- Jerusalem, Considerations
of the Secretariat of State of the Holy See
The Vatican presents here
its views over its commitments concerning the Holy Land situation and especially
about Jerusalem. May 1996
- Why the Vatican is
involved in the issues of the Middle East?
Rev. Labib Kobti shows us
why the Vatican should have a spiritual and moral saying over the situation
of the Middle East. The Holy See's stands are known by the whole world, and
are the most respected by all the parties involved.
- Excerpts from the Pope
discourses in Tunisia.
Pope John Paul II visited Tunisia on April 14.1996
The discourses are taken from "Osservatore Romano, April 17 & April 24.
This one day visit is the the third to apredominatly Muslim country after
Morocco on 1985, Sudan on 1996. The Pope has the Middle East situation in
his heart and look for Justice and peace.
- Jerusalem 6000 by John Worrell
John Worrel, an American archeoligist shows us
that the Israeli claims over Jerusalem are not founded. The Israelis covered
1% in the 6000 years of the History of Holy city. They cannot pretend to
possess exclusively Jerusalem and put the others outside.
- Jerusalem in the thoughts
of John Paul II John Paul II "Redemptionis Anno"
The Pope draws his thoughts about the situation
and calls Israel and Palestinians as well the People of the Middle East to
work for a comprehensive peace. Jerusalem is the the heart of the question
